Jesus' early boyhood was spent in Egypt, as his family fled from Herod. He lived as a stranger in a foreign land, among people of a very different culture. And this time in Egypt resulted in the fulfillment of a prophecy about Jesus: "Out of Egypt I called my son" (Mt. 2:15).
