Please join us for a day tour of Sunset Gardens (Sunset Magazine's Headquarters) and Fiolio Gardens on Friday, May 9, 2008. We will leave at 8:00 am from the church parking lot and travel first to Sunset and then to Fiolio, arriving home in late afternoon.
At the Sunset Gardens, there will be a self-guided tour of areas set up to reflect different parts of California, i.e. Northwest (Japanese Maples, Rhododendron, and Azaleas, Central (Camellias, pines and lavender), Southwest Desert and Southern Ca. (Sycamore, succulents and ceanothus) and their test garden, the site of over 50% of garden photography for their magazine.
At Fiolio, we will see their Mother's Day Flower Show. This year's flower show celebrates spring in all its glory and is the only Bay Area flower show that features both floral art and designer table settings in an historic home setting. We will enjoy a gourmet box lunch while dining outdoors listening to live musical performances between 11 am and 2 pm. Docents will be available in the gardens and house to answer questions, but there will not be a regular guided tour.

If you are a Mom, had a Mom or want to be a Mom, you are invited to begin your Mother's Day weekend next month with an evening of beautiful musicCeltic Cross on Friday, May 9, 2008.The Sacramento Valley Concert Choir, a community choir of adultshave been performing for many years in the Sacramento area, will be in concert at our church.Under the direction of Jim Parr, this choral group will sing a one hour program that includes Broadway tunes, spirituals and mixed singing groups.you enjoyed's motion picture "Sister Act," you won't want to miss the performance of "Hail Holy Queen" that was originally directed by Whoopi Goldberg in that movie.Bring Mom.Bring Grandma.Bring your family.All church members and friends are invited!!Mark your calendar now for this special concert that begins at 7:30 p.m.Free refreshments will be served, andfreewill offering will be taken at the conclusion of the performance.Sponsored by the Argonaut Marinership who hope this will add to the happiness of your Mother's Day weekend.
