Women's Retreat
May 2-4

Ready for a weekend of inspiring speakers, great music, wonderful food, and lots of laughter and sharing? This year's retreat theme is "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15). Pam Brubaker, a hospice nurse acquainted both with sorrow and with God's grace, loves to tell stories to define the day-to-day walk with God. She uses her "show and tell" box to illustrate how the Bible speaks to us right where we are.
Pam says, "I talk with gladness about Jesus and how the Bible is the guide to walking through life on the way to the Father's house. If I were a food, I would be raisin toast - ordinary with a little something extra! To be your retreat speaker is an honor…I will delight in joining you for fun - and for sure God sightings! - as we all draw near to the one who loves us so."
Celtic Cross women will again partner with women from Fair Oaks Presbyterian and other local churches. The retreat will be at Camp Woodleaf in the foothills above Marysville. Early bird registration (due at Fair Oaks by April 6) is $110; regular registration is $130. Last year's retreat sold out, so don't wait until the last minute to make your decision to attend. Registration forms will be available between services at the Adult Ministries table.
Past participants have found they drew closer to the other Celtic Cross women during the retreat and found the retreats to be a time of spiritual renewal. See for yourself what God can do in your life over the course of a weekend!

"THE CORINTHIAN VISIT"

Come with us to visit and compare Corinth, a Christian community that Paul founded with the community we live in today. Why should we bother? Simply because we all have to live together with people in Christian contexts and otherwise. The challenges of life together will inevitably crop up. Church life is not immune to these problems, and Corinth was particularly susceptible. As a result, we can benefit from Paul's advice to that community.
  • Are there cliques and power struggles in communities you are part of?
  • How do you handle the immorality that seems so prevalent in the world, especially when it begins to invade the church?
  • How are we ever going to solve the battle of the sexes?
  • Can eternity make a difference in how we live together today?
If any of these questions are relevant to your life and communities, then I Cor. has something to say to you.
Pastor Larry Huggett will be leading this exciting and challenging study beginning Wednesday, March 26, after our WOW dinner. We will visit Corinth, and learn about that community and their responses.
We will have child care for children and a program for youth. The youth program will alternate between current topic and homework help.
Our schedule
Dinner at 6:00 pm (we will of course always have a plate set aside for you if you know you are going to be late - just call.) Adults - $2.50 and children $l.00 (families only $7.00)
Classes for Adults and Youth - 7:00 pm
