OUR PURPOSE

May 2008 4 “Unstoppable” - Acts 5: 17-42 11 “Esther - A Vision for Life” Thousands were blessed because one man was willing to name the reality for a young woman, and that young woman said no to safety, security and wealth, and yes to following God to the point of giving her life. This Mother’s Day come hear about the woman who saved many out of her unselfish desire to be obedient to God. 18 “Joseph – How to Use the Gift of Reconciliation” Joseph’s story in Genesis shows us a picture of healing in broken relationships through confession and repentance and the expression of forgiveness. What this means is that resentment, hostility, judgment, superiority, suspicion, withdrawal— are not options for us any more. If we trust God’s promise we will experience his grace and mercy in ways we never thought possible.

Our Daily Bread Devotionals Plan to begin your Mother's Day spring weekend with an evening of beautiful music at Celtic Cross on Friday, May 9, 2008. The Sacramento Valley Concert Choir, a community choir of adults who have been performing for many years in the Sacramento area, will be in concert at our church. Broadway tunes, spirituals and mixed singing groups will be included in the one-hour program that will be followed with an audience sing along. There will also be refreshments provided by the Argonaut Mariners. If you enjoyed Touchstone's motion picture, "Sister Act," you won't want to miss the performance of "Hail Holy Queen" that was originally directed by Whoopi Goldberg in that movie. All church members, family and friends are cordially invited to enjoy a musical evening. A freewill donation to the choir will be available following the program. This upbeat event will surely add to the happiness of your Mother's Day weekend plans, so mark your calendar now for the 7:30 p.m. special concert
