Feed the flock of God.
Care for it willingly, not grudgingly;
not for what you will get out of it,
but because you are eager to serve the Lord.
(1 Peter 5:2)
Shepherds welcome new members to Celtic Cross. Although they don't carry a shepherds staff, they are dedicated volunteers who provide information, guidance and friendship to help new members find
their way.
Ewe Are Welcome
Celtic Cross may be the only church in America that holds a sheep-shape event known as the Shepherds Candlelight Dinner. Sheep dominate once a year on this night in Runquist Meadow. The meadow setting of this dinner is a delightful respite from the stampede of everyday life on California roadways. Whether you attend every year or have never attended, EWE ARE WELCOME this year. Mark your calendar now for this date: 6:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2008
This all-church event is open to members and friends and includes a hot, delicious meal (Shepherds Pie) that begins with a tasty "Sheep Dip" appetizer. This year the program will include some special music by "Resurrection" and some "flock talk" about the Shepherding Program at Celtic Cross. In case you are not familiar with "shepherding," it is a program that partners a new member with a volunteer Shepherd from our church who helps the new person(s) to better become assimilated into the life of this body of Christ. This focused effort is made for the purpose of acquainting Christians with a new church home in which they can worship God, participate in the programs and grow in faith.
Sign-ups for the April 19 dinner will begin March 30 in the Core Foyer. Just look for the grazing sheep to sign up for this annual evening of fine food, special music and fun fellowship.

Sheep Shares Are Baaaa-ck!
The warmest sweater you ever had could have been made from wool and created by the knitting needles of someone special in your life. Warm in winter and cool in summer, along with being waterproof and durable, wool is a valuable product. One of God's most humble creatures, the sheep, is an animal that naturally grows a woolly coat and repeatedly shares it! Sheep often give birth to twins or triplets and are hardy enough to graze even the hilliest, rockiest pastures unsuitable for other livestock. All over the world sheep are being raised to advance the cause against hunger and poverty. Entire communities depend on wool and meat from sheep. Have you ever thought about investing in a sheep for the "shear joy" of helping a struggling family somewhere in the world? For just 50 cents you can purchase a cotton "sheep share" that is an investment in the purchase of a sheep through Heifer Project International. This opportunity will be available on Sundays beginning March 30. Just look for the sheep poster in the Core Foyer so you can perform a tiny miracle and change cotton into wool by purchasing a "sheep share."
